There’s plenty happening in the second half of 2022. I have managed to track down these tango festivals, it includes favourites and a couple of exciting new events. I have also found a couple of musical events featuring some of Australia’s outstanding tango musicians.

30 July – Sydneytango Milonga – Live Music
Presented by Sydneytango to support live music, this milonga occurs on the 5th Saturday of the month. Under new management, Morena Dancewear, 30 July will feature music by the ‘Adelante Tango’ Sextet.

This is a first. Three milongas in the Brisbane City Hall, DJs from across the country and a new tango orchestra, The Brisbane Tango Orchestra.

An annual event organised alternately by the Tango Synergy Club of Sydney and the Tango Social Club of Canberra, this is a weekend of dance, music and socialising in the southern highlands town of Bundanoon. Live music by the Mendoza Tango Quartet.
