Tango musicians who can play Argentine tango for dancers are a rare breed in Australia, so when a new band appears there is much excitement in the community.
At the end of July, 2011, Sydney's Tango Club, Tango Synergy held a milonga at the Concord RSL and their band was Tangalo - a new group of Sydney musicians, some of whom came to tango through dancing. Their music was worthy of the excitement and the dance floor was packed throughout the night.
TangoAustralia was at the milonga and asked Emily-Rose Sarkova, the group's leader to tell us about their inspiration - and their love of tango music

Tango Noir led by singer Ruth Roshan has performed at a number of venues around Melbourne and at the annual Buenos Aires Beach Festival held in January in Victoria. When the band performed in Sydney for the first time on March 7 TangoAustralia thought it was time to find out a bit more about this tango band. We asked Ruth Roshan (pictured) to tell us more...
