Sergio Cortazzo returned to Sydney in April 2007 for the Australian Tango Championships. Sergio took some time out from his travels to answer TangoAustralia's questions

sergiosoledad_closeup.jpg I was born in…
La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina

My earliest tango memory is…
My parents dancing together

The greatest influences on my dancing have been…
Juan Carlos Copes & Maria Nieves, Miguel Zotto & Milena Plebs

The orchestra I am enjoying most is...
Osvaldo Pugliese

My advice to someone just starting to dance tango is…
Learning Tango is a long journey and every day you can learn something that makes you feel that you are dancing better. It is very important to enjoy [tango] and make your partner feel good forl that 3 minutes you will share.

In the next 12 months I will be…
Touring the world performing and teaching tango.

The World Tango Championship is important because …
It creates an additional interest in the people who come to enjoy tango, and a challenge for the couples to improve their tango.

The most exciting thing about tango today is…
Discovering tango fanatics and milongas all over the world, even in remotes places.

When I come to Sydney I would like to…
Meet again the many friends that I made in past visits

When you come to the tango workshops for the Championships you need to…
show the same respect and devotion to learn that I found in the last two times I taught in Australia.

Sergio and his partner Soledad performed in the Show "One Night at Buenos Aires" at the Sydney Opera House on  Sunday April 8, 2007.
